Fairport Convention's Chris Leslie has recorded a brilliant new instrumental album with some of the foremost folk musicians of the present day. Here are fiery Irish tune sets played with former Fairporter Maartin Allcock and a symphonic string arrangement of the title track by fellow Convention fiddler Ric Sanders. Chris plays exquisite Breton and Texan pieces with Simon Mayor, Europe's finest mandolin player, and duets with the acoustic guitar maestro Martin Simpson. Beautiful Hebridean airs played with harpist Margaret Knight and a traditional reel with champion Irish step dancer Anne-Marie Doyle are further attractions of this outstanding album.
The Flow was launched at Fairport Convention's 30th anniversary festival at Cropredy, August 8th-9th 1997.
