The Seven Dials Band was formed in 1996 for the recording projects ‘The Music of Dickens and His Time’ and ‘Christmas with Dickens’, both on Beautiful Jo Records www.bejo.co.uk. Subsequent live performances included a Victorian musical evening at Dickens's home at Gad's Hill in Kent, and a show at the Oxford Playhouse with the actor Freddie Jones performing readings. The Seven Dials’ show at the Oxford Playhouse was a brilliant success.
‘Our feet were tapping and everyone was dying to join in the revelry,’
